Rowan’s 1st Birthday

🎂No cake at this party. The ONLY food she could tolerate was homemade applesauce. I considered sticking a candle in applesauce but she was still consistently vomiting and I didn’t want anyone to see that.⁣⁣

🏠She was receiving in home therapy 5-6x per week for PT, OT, and feeding.⁣⁣

🎉She sat up for the first time (for a few seconds) on her birthday. It was a great win that I desperately needed. It was a MILESTONE and it was progress. She would eventually sit unassisted with pillows around her at 18 months. ⁣⁣

👩‍⚕️The doctors had no clue what was going on. We had already seen GI, Infectious Disease, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Genetics. With no answers and no plan for follow up, we changed pediatricians and started seeing a Master Herbalist. ⁣⁣

💊We took her off of all meds because they were not working. She started on the GAPS diet and a long list of supplements. Bone broth, elemental formula, olive oil, and applesauce were all that her diet consisted of.⁣⁣

🎁 She was happy and seemed to enjoy letting us open gifts for her.⁣⁣

🤰🏼I was 9wks pregnant with our 3rd child and in total shock about the pregnancy. ⁣⁣
