Deciphering Pain

Is that horse biting her hand? Possibly. It’s ok though. She has a VERY HIGH pain tolerance. ⁣⁣

High pain tolerance or delayed reaction to pain has it’s pros and cons. ⁣⁣

Pro: She recovers quickly from bumps, bruises, jammed fingers, etc. by simply distracting her with something silly. ⁣⁣

Cons: We never know if she is seriously hurt. Since she can’t communicate effectively, it’s a constant guessing game. ⁣⁣

Sometimes she will really scream and that’s because her finger or body is stuck in something like a door or a chair. Those are the worst because she is helpless until we can get to her. ⁣⁣

This pony could have been biting her, but not enough to make it count. It’s a relief because the only thing worse than losing a finger would be NEEDING A BANDAID!!! ⁣⁣
